Subculture as a system of norms and values that distinguish the group from the dominant culture of society.Youth subcultures in modern Russia encompass mainly schoolchildren in the upper grades. Psychologists argue that so tiny form a self-assessment, it is easier for them to assert themselves in factions than by real actions that testify to adulthood. Youth, however, argue that it's not a low self-esteem: new trends in Russian society cause a change in the adopted attitudes.
Whatever it was, there are enough youth trends today, and their adherents unite much, from philosophy to symbolism. A brief overview of the main of these trends presents us the following picture.
The formation of teenage subcultures in Russia has its own specific reasons, different from those of the West. First of all, it is the social and economic instability of society. Economic recovery, observed in recent years, fundamentally did not change the picture. Simply put, our young people are concerned not with the needs that stimulate various youth movements in the West, but the problem of overcoming life's difficulties, and sometimes even physical survival. Secondly, the most welcome prospect for today's adolescents is the rapid achievement of a prestigious social position.
Informalists strongly differ from each other in declared goals, values ​​and, as a consequence, behavior, and pastime. For example, they are united on the basis of preference for certain styles of music, dances. Not to mention football fans: there are about 80% of such associations.
Against the background of the spreading of subcultures and pseudo-cultures in the country, the level of crime among Russian youth is growing: according to statistics, every fifth young man between the ages of 14 and 30 has at least once committed an offense or a crime. And this is also related to the specifics of youth subcultures in Russia. So, about 9% of the total number of teenage groups - drug addicts and toxic addicts.In 1986, the existence of informal groups in the USSR was officially recognized. By tacit agreement, teenagers began to "fence off" adults with clothing, paraphernalia, slang, manners, and morals, for which they were condemned. Then the teenage groups began to divide into antisocial, antisocial, and so on.
For example, punks, hippies, bikers, and rockabilly were referred to social: they did not represent threats to society, but they did not obey the general norms of behavior either. Anti-social groups were called adolescent groups, which were aggressive, asserted at the expense of others.
But the teenage gangs, not belonging to either group, remained a separate classification: "gangs". The so-called associations of adolescents on the territorial basis: here reigned their mores and laws, the cult of strength and ability to fight was valued. In the course were such expressions as "grass", "estimate", "counter" and the like; it was customary to walk with weapons. And now the gangs continue to quarrel with each other and terrorize the "neutral" teenagers. Such organizations are also called, depending on the place, "offices", gangs. They include "militants" of 16-18 years old and "husks" - adolescents for 14 years. Leaders are leaders from 19 to 22 years.
In a separate group, all the well-known youth groups, who have chosen symbols with a swastika, stood out. They call themselves "Fascists", "Fascists", "Nazis", "Nazis", "National Front". In the people, they are more known as skinheads.
But there are also youth associations that have been called pro-social: they are associations for the protection of nature, monuments of architecture. These groups, whose purpose - to benefit society, are few, but active.
There are also informal groups of artistic direction. The so-called "computer underground" is also interesting, a kind of youth world in which there are many subgroups with a specific structure: at the lowest level are users (users), then there is a group of "points", then "sysops", or system operators (administrators) , they are led by so-called network communicators. In this world, there is a special slang and style of communication. Lack of constant contact in the "real" they compensate for the exchange of e-mails, which became their ritual.
