Read the text and say what the following countries have in common and what they differ in.
It is possible to single out four levels of government, though the fourth level exists not in every country. These levels comprise the following responsibilities:
municipal responsibilities (mayors of cities), 2) provincial (state, regional) responsibilities (heads of the legislature in provinces of Canada, governments of states in the US or oblasts in Russia), 3) national (federal) responsibilities (Prime Minister, President) and 4) the supranational level (e.g. the European Parliament in the European Union).
Government in the United States consists of three separate levels: the federal government, the state governments, and local governments. The Constitution gives the federal government the power to undertake certain tasks and assigns all other powers to the state governments. State governments each establish the local governments within their territory and delegate certain powers to them. Each state is divided into counties and municipalities, each of which has its own government....

9. Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales enjoy relative autonomy because of their devolved parliaments.
