ВАРИАНТ 3.

I.Перепишите следующие предложения. Определите по грамматическим признакам, какой частью речи являются слова, оформленные окончанием –s и какую функцию оно выполняет:

А. показатель 3 лица ед.числа глагола в Present Simple

Б. признак мн.числа имени существительного

В. показатель притяжательного падежа имени существительного

Переведите предложения на русский язык (см. образец №1).

1. At Christmas everybody in the family gives everybody else a present.

2. Her father’s bedroom slippers were very old.

3.On Christmas Eve they all put their presents under the Christmas tree.

4. Three days later grandfather fell ill.

5. Usually she celebrates her birthday at home with her family.

II. Перепишите следующие предложения и переведите их на русский язык,

    обращая внимание на особенности перевода определений, выраженных   именем существительным (см. образец №2).

1. John had woodwork lessons at school and made a coffee table.

2. John needed a pair of football socks.

3. On Christmas morning Mr. and Mrs. Williams, John and Marian were delighted

   with their presents.

4. You can find Jack in the school yard.

5. The city council wants to develop the public transport system.

III. Перепишите следующие предложения, содержащие формы сравнения

    и переведите их на русский язык.

1. Last year Mrs. Williams was ready for Christmas early.

2. She liked a record of some pop music more than a new dress..

3. It was the best present for her.

4. The population is getting older – many young people have left the area.

5. New Zealand has some industry but agriculture is more important.

IV. Перепишите и письменно переведите на русский язык предложения, обращая внимание на перевод неопределенных и отрицательных местоимений.

1. Her father’s bedroom slippers were very old and shabby so she bought him

    some nice new slippers.

2. John can do any wood work.

3. She has no money to buy a present.

4. Nothing special happened yesterday.

5. Will someone help me?

V.Перепишите следующие предложения, определите в них видовременные формы глаголов и укажите их инфинитив. Переведите предложения на русский язык (см.образец №3).

1. Marian did needlework at school and she made her mother an apron and

    her father a tie.

2. They choose their presents carefully and hide them until Christmas day.

3. Everybody will put under the Christmas tree.

4. Mr. Smith was interested in Russian literature and history.

5. I watch TV  for sixteen hours a day .

VI. Прочтите и устно переведите на русский язык с первого по шестой абзацы текста. Перепишите и письменно переведите 1, 2, 3, 4 и 5 абзацы.

Text. A Present Problem.

1. The Williams family are very good at keeping secrets. At Christ-mas everybody in the family gives everybody else a present. They choose their presents carefully and then they wrap them up (завора-чивать) and hide (прятать) them until Christmas day. Last year Mrs. Williams was ready for Christmas early. Her husband's umbrella was broken so she bought him a smart new umbrella. She knitted a sweater for John & she made Marian a new dress. Her father's bed-room slippers (шлепанцы) were very old and shabby so she bought him some nice new slippers.....
 

VII. Прочтите 6 абзац и вопрос к нему. Из приведенных вариантов ответа укажите номер предложения, содержащего правильный ответ на поставленный вопрос:

1. Their relatives gave them presents.

II. Заполните пропуски глаголами  can, may, must, should . Переведите предложения на русский язык.

IV. Поставьте глаголы в скобках в правильное время – Present Perfect, Present Perfect Continuous. Переведите предложения на русский язык.

1. Is Alan here?  No, I’m afraid he (go) out.

2. How long he (keep) this book?

3. Somebody (take) my papers. They (lie) here for ages. But now I can’t

    find them.

4. Our group (visit) many interesting places today.

5. Ann is very tired. She (clean) her room for three hours.

V. Поставьте глаголы в скобках в правильное время – Past Perfect, Past Simple. Переведите предложения на русский язык.

1. I (not to be) hungry  because I (have) lunch.

2. When I (get) home I found that someone (break) into my flat.

     3. Jane (play) tennis yesterday. She was not very good at it because she

            never (play) tennis before.

4. After the dancing group (have) a lot of rehearsals, they (give) a few

   concerts.

5.  She (phone) her boyfriend before they went out.

VI. Перепишите следующие предложения и переведите их, обращая внимание на временные формы глагола страдательного залога. Подчеркните глагол-сказуемое в каждом предложении, определите его видовременную форму.

1. In the USA daily newspapers are published in 34 different languages.

2. She was discovered as a poetess.

3. New films and slides are always shown.

4. Information and news is given to large numbers of people.

5. A Mozart manuscript which was arrested for 40 years was knocked out   at the auction yesterday.

VII. Вместо точек вставьте глагол в правильной форме. Перепишите предложение и переведите его на русский язык.

1. The teenagers ….. an award for bravery yesterday. (to give).

2. School teachers …  about 15.000$ a year. (to pay).

3. Our post……. twice a day (to deliver).

4. Our college…… with a language lab next year ( to equip).

VIII. Раскройте скобки и дополните предложения либо инфинитивом, либо герундием. Перепишите предложения и переведите их на русский язык.

Text. Mass media. Different ways to know the world

1. There are many different ways to get knowledge about our big world. It is mass media, travelling, museums, meeting with interesting people, etc. People all over the world enjoy books. Books are our friends and teachers. We can learn a lot of interesting and useful things from the books.

2. The mass media have done and continue doing much to excite an interest in every aspect of the country's life. The mass media are the various ways by which information and news is given to large numbers of people, especially television, radio, newspapers and magazines. The mass media now play an important role in shaping our opinions....
