Stanley Kowalski lives in a basic, fundamental world that does not allow any subtleties and refinements. This is a man who likes to put his cards on the table. He cannot understand any relationship between a man and a woman, except sexual, where he sees the role of a man in giving and enjoying these relationships. In the image of Stanley, the author portrayed a cruel and very rude man. The reader notices that the hero disrespects his own wife, he even raises his hand at her when she is in a position. The ideal pastime for Stanley is poker and intimacy with women.

Stanley's relationship with Stella changed because it was always just the two of them and they could do whatever they wanted. With Blanche being there Stella at times had a new perspective about Stanley. Blanche criticizes her sister's primitive life with her husband. However, she dreams of peace and family life, but not in such crude forms as Stanley and Stella. In the end that did harm their marriage.

Mitch is a timid and intimidated person who is unable to provide happiness and care for Blanche because of his weak character. Their marriage would be doomed to failure.

As Blanche and Stanley represent two diametrically opposed worlds, so Stella represents a bridge between the two poles, but It is obvious, even without her passionate declaration in Scene Four, that she is deeply in love with her husband, and this love is the cornerstone of her existence.

Discussing a modern short story: Face by A. Munro

In The Face, Alice Munro takes one of her special detours into the past to reflect on the present. She focuses on the complex effects that the event of childhood can have on adult life.

The story begins with a father's dramatic rejection of his newborn son because of a birthmark covering the right side of the child's face. The boy grows up facing the extreme polarity of his father's resentment and his mother's devotion. However, this potential psychological trauma is not at the centre of the narrative. Over the course of the narrative, the narrator tells a rather low-key story of his entire life, which seems to be the ordinary life of an actor. However, the dramatic turn in the story has nothing to do with his family life or his career. The narrative energy is centred around a bizarre event that takes place in the middle of a serious game played out with a playmate neighbour. Although the boy does not understand the full significance of the event, it has great significance to him as an adult.

Munro uses emotionally restrained language to tell the heartbreaking revelations. Over long stretches of time, the story is limited to the superficial details of things, but when the narrator begins to talk about an event that he has "come to regard as the Great Drama" of his life, he becomes vulnerable to his own romantic interpretation and even over-dramatisation. Because this is ultimately a story about the possibility of love, Munro balances the implausible illusion that he is destined for romantic love with supernatural and uncontrollable accidents that model behaviour with a strong sense of destiny. As a reader, you may or may not be vulnerable to how the protagonist handles his sense of fate.
