Read this biography about the travel writer, Bruce Chatwin. Place the events in the correct order.
Bruce Chatwin was born on 13 May 1940 but his interest in writing grew later on in his life. He started his career at the auction house Sotheby's, where he soon became the expert on Impressionist art. But in 1964 he went on a journey to Ethiopia and his interest in archaeology began. He studied archaeology for a year at university but found academic study boring and left.
In 1972 The Sunday Times Magazine employed him to write about art and architecture. The job improved his writing skills and also gave him the chance to travel. In 1974 he flew to Patagonia. He spent six months there and published the highly successful book In Patagonia in 1977.
Chatwin carried on writing both fiction and travel books for the rest of his life, including his famous book The Songlines about the Aborigines in Australia. In his career, Chatwin received praise for his story-telling abilities and criticism from others for not telling the truth in his books. In the late 1980s Chatwin developed AIDS and died in 1989.

Our business trip went very well. We had a lot of great meetings, and on our final day, we were ready to leave. Unfortunately, that's when the problems started.
We packed our bags, went down from our hotel room, and checked out. We still had a long time before our plane, so we decided to have a nice lunch. Then, we called a taxi and set off.
The taxi drive went well. There were no traffic jams and we had plenty of time. Then, just before we reached the airport, a police car stopped us and asked our taxi to pull over. A police officer explained that there was a security alarm at the airport, and he wanted to check our bags. Unfortunately, this took a very long time, and there were many other cars being checked. By the time we arrived at the airport, we were quite late. There were crowds of people everywhere, and everyone was stressed. We tried to check in but an airline employee told us that the plane would probably not take off that day. All the planes were either delayed or cancelled. After another two hours trying to get more information, we gave up and decided to try another way of getting home. We took a taxi to the train station and bought tickets for the next train. It was a long, overnight journey, and we had to stop over in a small town for an hour in the middle of the night. We arrived home 28 hours late, completely exhausted!
