INTRODUCTION
Today we live in a world of constantly changing realities, innovations and updates that affect absolutely all spheres of our life: economic, social, labor and so on. Of course, such an important sphere as education is not an exception. We all know what an important role it plays in our lives, as our future life depends on its successful development.
Education is one of the most important elements in the social sphere system of the state, which provides the process of acquiring knowledge, skills and abilities. In the future, the participant of the educational system effectively applies this knowledge and skills in his or her professional activities. Moreover they can contribute to the development of the state in future.
As it has been mentioned earlier, the existing education system is also undergoing modernization in the face of constant changes. In these circumstances, there is a phenomenon such as “reform”. This concept refers to the process of transformation and change in the existing education system with the preservation of the unchanged foundations. Generally, reforming does not affect the global and basic reorganization but touches upon the peripheral and subsidiary ones.
The problems of reforming the educational system and the search for optimal directions of development have always been and remain relevant aims for each country and for a specific historical period. For example, in the United States the need for a radical reform of its education is proclaimed at the governmental level, the task of which is to bring American education to the first place in the world.
The educational system has undergone many changes in the way of its development. It is worthwhile to say that, like any other process of modifications, these changes were accompanied by both positive and negative moments. Moreover, the sphere of education is constantly a field of the battle between supporters and opponents of its reformation. Opponents are professionals, parents and the public, when supporters are mainly officials and the research structures serving their interests, which lobby for reforms despite the wide protests. Some of them say that our education system is perfect and need no changes when others insist that it old and ineffective nowadays and should be changed.
Then is there really such situation when modern education system should be changed and do we need reforms in it? These questions will be analyzed and answered further.
1. The problems of the education system
The fate of any state depends directly on the condition of the education system. If the state is committed to development, the leadership aims to occupy one of the first positions in the world arena, it is necessary to take care of literacy and education of the population.
The modern education system is going through quite difficult times. The Soviet school is being destroyed, European trends are being replaced. Sometimes innovation takes place on unprepared ground, or innovation is not adapted to the Russian mentality. There are lots of problems in modern Russian education. Let's try to analyze them.
First of all, the crisis of the old education system is increasingly being heard. In higher education the exit was found in conversion to the system of bachelor and magistracy. But secondary school and vocational schools still remained uncovered. The recently published education law is designed to solve this problem. And practice will show how effective it is. The need to change the approach to the learning process becomes obvious now. Modern society is at such a level of development, when it is time to move away from teaching as learning procedures. It is necessary to teach children to extract information, understand it and apply it in practice. And this requires enormous work on the preparation not only of new books for students and manuals for teachers and educators.
The second problem of education is called excessive theoretical orientation. Raising a theoretical scientist, we create a huge shortage of narrow specialists. Having received a good theoretical training, few can apply the knowledge in practice. As a result of their employment, new staff members are undergoing a major adaptation to the inability to compare their knowledge with practical activities.
The third problem is insufficient funding. Lack of funds is the reason for the shortage of personnel in the education system in the whole country. In addition, to keep pace with the times, it is necessary to introduce new technologies, update outdated equipment. The educational institution does not always have the means to do this.
The fourth problem, which is particularly acute for school graduates and first-year students, is the low level of communication between the stages of education. So, now, in order to go to the university, parents often hire a tutor for their children, because the school cannot give the appropriate level of training.
As we see, there are a lot of problems in the education system and the state tries to develop a variety of reforms to solve them.
2. Modern changes in education system
To get rid of these problems our government tries to correspond to modern requirements and makes some changes such as the usage of information and communication technologies, the usage of multimedia in teaching, electronic class registers, electronic books and so on. Let’s examine them more carefully.
2.1 Information and communication technologies in education
The main task facing the Russian Ministry of education is to teach students and teachers to use all the latest technologies. Since childhood, a person should be able to use information and communication technologies, quickly find and use the necessary information. Unfortunately, many experienced teachers significantly fall behind their students in the ability to use the computer. Not only ordinary schoolchildren and teachers, but also children with health problems (who study in special schools or at home) should learn how to use ICT. The Ministry is seriously considering the wide introduction of ICT throughout the country through the creation of electronic libraries, reference support systems, and massive Internet connection.
Young teachers easily own a computer, but the teachers of the old generation have to undergo a significant retraining. But, not all teachers have a desire to learn ICT, as they simply do not know how to apply the acquired knowledge. Therefore, it is necessary to develop mechanisms that will encourage educators to create and widely use electronic resources.
2.2 Multimedia in teaching
There is a lot of talk about the weak effectiveness of the current education system. As a rule, students do not want to work in the classroom, often lose interest in the educational process. These negative phenomena are caused by the monotony of the educational material presentation.
In such situations, the use of multimedia equipment can be a great help in revival of the educational process. The modern world is developing at an incredible pace, and what is new for our teachers and students has been already actively used in the West.
Some teachers oppose the possibility of introducing computer and multimedia systems in the educational process, they insist on the use of conservative, proven methods. But this attitude is unacceptable. It's like digging a trench with a shovel when an excavator is next to you.
Since ancient times, the main way to obtain information was to read books. It is a well-known fact that depending on the method of information assimilation, people are divided into visual, audio and kinesthetic. New multimedia systems allow using this knowledge effectively. The use of visual, audio accompaniment and educational materials created in the form of a game, allow you to diversify the educational process, make it interesting and entertaining.
Multimedia systems allow to approach presentation of material more creatively, to involve students in active work and cognitive activity. Proper use of these systems makes learning easy and understating.
2.3 Electronic class register
Let's imagine how long it takes to work with a class register. The first task is to fill in the data of students; then you need to write a list of the class on each new page; the third task is grading and the fourth is filling in the fields “subject”, “homework”. And all this should be written in the same color paste, corrections are not accepted. If you make a mistake, you should think how to gently wipe it with a blade or a stroke. How much of a headache! But it's easy to solve everything with the help of an electronic class register, which has already begun to appear in some schools.
First, students’ names should be entered once and they are already in the database. A mistake can be easily corrected in a minute. Parents can log in to their child's page and see all the current scores on the subject of interest. Perhaps, every teacher dreams of such register. It's time to forget our laborious paperwork and simplify your life! The system of electronic registers is a convenient, powerful, and most importantly completely free tool to create a single information and educational space of the institution and the interaction of the educational institution with the parents of students.
With the help of the new system, parents will be able to monitor the progress of the child and doing his or her homework, learn about the parents’ meeting on time, receive all the teacher’s comments.
This system will remind students of the schedule and homework.
Teachers will receive a convenient and reliable way to communicate with parents, in addition, it will help them in the preparation of reports for performance, introduce a system of electronic testing.
Thanks to the developed system of templates and reference books, work will turn from routine into pleasure. A system of division of user rights allows involving all teachers of the school, including the unprepared.
At the present time, the system of electronic registers provides such opportunities: publication of the schedule for each class, the ability to set the proper class name, publication of information about the school, keeping an electronic diary of the student.
2.4 Electronic books
More recently, the issue of the shortage of books in schools and universities is raised. And at the same time, we are talking about the fact that the Internet is beginning to gradually penetrate even into the most remote places of our country, at least, the government is concerned that in every school, urban and rural, there is access to the World Wide Web. Now, everyone knows paper printed books, which need to republish at least once in 10 years, some of them pass from hand to hand, torn, dust, outline, and break down and become impossible to be written. How much paper is needed to provide all schools and universities with books! The government sees the solution in electronic books that can be distributed on flesh-cards or downloaded from the Internet. Such electronic publications do not occupy much space in school libraries; they are easier to make changes and adjustments, visual AIDS are richer in them. For example, in the usual book can not contain a lot of photos, tables, and in the electronic in addition to photos, slides, you can place a quality educational video. Electronic books assume a multi-level system of training and examination. It is possible to do both at school or university and independently at home.
CONCLUSION
As we can see nowadays there are lots of problems in education system due to the world’s development. And it is impossible to avoid any changes in it.
We all understand that we live in a dynamic, ever-changing, globally interconnected world where operate other rules and laws of survival. We want our children to be able to survive in this world; we want them to be successful and happy.
Even the most unenlightened person, who has never heard of new trends in education, understands what competition is, and that a renewed education is needed that only it will give the child everything in order to have a good job and be competitive not only in his country but also abroad. We (both the state and its citizens) want our children to study in a modern well-maintained school with a favorable psychological climate, interesting for all participants of the educational process. We want education to help young people become worthy members of society, exemplary family members and professionals.
Nowadays there is development of a new education system in the country focused on entering the world educational space. This reform process is accompanied by significant changes in pedagogical theory and practice. Also there is a change of educational paradigm; other contents, approaches and pedagogical mentality are offered. In the course of this reform, new curricula are being developed, the concepts of textbooks and teaching AIDS are being revised and the forms and methods of teaching are being improved now. Yes, modern reforms are not perfect, but we have time and opportunities to make them so.
